My family and I went to Camber Sands for the August bank holiday weekend and I manage a number of firsts…. 1, I escaped the family for some “me time” to take pictures with out the “are you done yet?” 2, I managed to drag my arse out of bed for a 5am walk to scout out the beach area and find some compositions for when the sun rose. 3, I remembered my grad filters and a 10 stop ND filter….. yay :-)

Here is the result: I have done a small amount of processing of the RAW file in capture one, manly to lift the shadows on the posts as the sun was to my left but otherwise the picture is as it was shot with my Fujifilm XT3 with the XF 16-80mm f4 lens and Velvia film simulation (capture one lets you add this to the raw file) using my filter with a 10 stop ND filter and I also had the polariser on.

Shot at: iso 160, 30 second exposure @ f6.4

I am quite proud of the out come for a first attempt…. I think I had a lot of luck on my side that morning.
