#231 PHOTOWALK: LEAVING MY JOB FOR PHOTOGRAPHY! & OTHER STORIES

It's black and white week on the Friday Photowalk as I read and answer your mails you send into the show. We talk about embracing the world that is on your doorstep, the wonderful trinkets and details of our life we should be photographing, leaving an 18 year career to pursue a dream job making pictures, ‘we’ make photos of the cherry blossom in Boston and a windswept coast in England, plus I'm on the lookout for those who photograph abandoned buildings. The pictures below have been sent in by this week’s contributors.

We’re supported by MPB.com who help you buy, sell and trade used camera gear in the US, the UK and Europe. Quality used gear is a way of driving the circular economy and of course this makes it a sustainable way to shop too. Plus a nod to our super supportive Patrons who enjoy the extra MORE episodes each month. Join the show’s Facebook group and follow our Instagram profile to become part of our growing community.

Remember, I’m always interested to hear from you with your thoughts about the shows, the photographic projects you’re working on and especially the pictures and stories from your own walks. Send you pictures (2000 pixels on the long edge) to studio@photography daily.show

FURTHER REFERENCE: Karah Mew talks about Instagram on episode 229, Barry Butler on finding your photographic calling, Suzanne Stein in episode 188 talking about how she found photography, Roff Smith on making photo stories on your doorstep.

Anna McCarthy’s wondrous walks at Prawle Point. See more from this collection on Anna’s dedicated Photo Essay page. A link also to renting the very cottage Anna used as a base.
