#15 iN-PUBLiC IS BACK, STREET SPECIAL

Every episode is special, but this one delivers some exciting news for a genre that has grown exponentially over the last two decades in particular, I’d say a result of the democratisation of photography in terms of kit and accessibility and platforms from which to share your work. I’m going to let Nick Turpin, founder of the original iN-PUBLiC take the heavy lifting on this one, since it’s his announcement and actually, it’s an announcement that has an international flavour. In terms of scoop, I think it’d be fair to say this is the first interview with Nick to hit the airwaves as such about the news you’re about to hear in this episode.

In the broadest terms, and I mean broadest, whenever we pick up a camera, particularly to make those pictures of our day to day lives and experiences, with the obvious exception of anything particularly posed, or contrived, we’ve all got a little of the Cartier Bressons in us. And if that seems the most trite example I could summon, I think you’d have to agree that it’s a name, perhaps THE name, most photographers bring to mind when thinking of what’s now known in populist terms of street.

So even if street is not your direct genre, this is an episode that explores through Nick Turpin’s eyes, those that are at the very top of their game and the way in which they see.
